Swift is a multi-paradigm, compiled programming language developed by Apple Inc for iOS, macOS, watchOS, iPadOS, tvOS, Linux, z/OS. It is a general-purpose programming language designed to work with Apple’s Cocoa and Cocoa Touch frameworks. It works with the existing Objective-C code written for Apple products.

Swift has features which can tackle some common programming issues like null pointer dereferencing and provides syntactic sugar to help avoid the pyramid of doom. It offers safer features of Objective-C, with minimum bugs.
